The commit referenced above exposes this problem. To fix the problem, use of_get_child_by_name() instead of of_find_node_by_name(); of_get_child_by_name() does not drop the reference count of passed device nodes. While semantically different, we only look for immediate children of the passed device node, so of_get_child_by_name() is a more appropriate function to use anyway. Release the reference to the device node obtained with of_get_child_by_name() after it is no longer needed to avoid another device node leak. While at it, clean up the code and change the return type of omap3xxx_hwmod_is_hs_ip_block_usable() to bool to match its use and the return type of of_device_is_available(). 2017-02-16ARM: 8657/1: uaccess: consistently check object sizesKees Cook
In commit 76624175dcae ("arm64: uaccess: consistently check object sizes"), the object size checks are moved outside the access_ok() so that bad destinations are detected before hitting the "memset(dest, 0, size)" in the copy_from_user() failure path. This makes the same change for arm, with attention given to possibly extracting the uaccess routines into a common header file for all architectures in the future. 2017-02-14ARM: OMAP3: Fix smartreflex platform data regressionTony Lindgren
Commit d9d9cec02835 ("ARM: OMAP2+: Remove legacy data from hwmod for omap3") dropped platform data that should no longer be used as we're booting with device tree. It turns out that smartreflex is still using platform data and produces the following errors during probe: smartreflex smartreflex.0: invalid resource smartreflex smartreflex.0: omap_sr_probe: ioremap fail smartreflex: probe of smartreflex.0 failed with error -22 smartreflex smartreflex.1: invalid resource smartreflex smartreflex.1: omap_sr_probe: ioremap fail smartreflex: probe of smartreflex.1 failed with error -22 Let's fix the regression by adding back the smartreflex hwmod data. The long term is to update the smartreflex driver to use device tree based probing. 2017-01-24ARM: dts: imx: Pass 'chosen' and 'memory' nodesFabio Estevam
Commit 7f107887d199 ("ARM: dts: imx: Remove skeleton.dtsi") causes boot issues when the bootloader does not create a 'chosen' node if such node is not present in the dtb. The reason for the boot failure is well explained by Javier Martinez Canillas: "the decompressor relies on a pre-existing chosen node to be available to insert the command line and merge other ATAGS info." , so pass an empty 'chosen' node to fix the boot problem. This issue has been seen in the kernelci reports with Barebox as bootloader. Also pass the 'memory' node in order to fix boot issues on the SolidRun iMX6 platforms. 2017-01-19ARM: dts: da850-evm: fix read access to SPI flashFabien Parent
Read access to the SPI flash are broken on da850-evm, i.e. the data read is not what is actually programmed on the flash. According to the datasheet for the M25P64 part present on the da850-evm, if the SPI frequency is higher than 20MHz then the READ command is not usable anymore and only the FAST_READ command can be used to read data. This commit specifies in the DTS that we should use FAST_READ command instead of the READ command.
